Scale

Here’s what you’ll need to make your Cream Cheese Spinach Puffs:

For the Puffs:

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped (or 1/2 cup frozen spinach, thawed and drained)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2: Prepare the Filling

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, chopped spinach, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well blended and set aside.

Step 3: Prepare the Puff Pastry

  • On a lightly floured surface, roll out the thawed puff pastry to smooth out any creases. Cut the pastry into 3-inch squares.

Step 4: Assemble the Puffs

  • Place a small spoonful of the spinach and cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square. Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling, creating a triangle or pouch shape. Pinch the edges to seal well.

Step 5: Brush with Egg Wash

  • Brush the tops of the assembled puffs with the beaten egg to give them a beautiful golden color when baked.

Step 6: Bake the Puffs

  • Place the puffs on the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until they are puffed and golden brown.

Step 7: Serve

  • Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them warm or at room temperature.
