  • 1 pound breakfast sausage, crumbled and cooked

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1/2 cup diced bell peppers (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped onions (optional)

For Topping:

  • Fresh chopped parsley (optional)
  • Hot sauce (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Cook the Sausage

  • In a skillet, cook the breakfast sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat and set aside.

Arrange the Crescent Rolls

  • Unroll the crescent roll dough and lay it in the prepared baking dish, pressing the seams together to form a solid crust.

Add Sausage and Cheese

  • Sprinkle the cooked sausage evenly over the crescent roll crust, followed by a layer of shredded cheddar cheese.

Whisk the Egg Mixture

  • In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper. Pour this mixture over the sausage and cheese.

Optional Vegetables

  • If using, sprinkle the diced bell peppers and chopped onions over the top for extra flavor.

Bake

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the top is golden brown.

Cool Slightly and Serve

  • Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve with hot sauce on the side.
