Deliciously Spooky Skull Potatoes Recipe

  • 4 large russet potatoes
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Black olives (for eyes)
  • Fresh chives or parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Potatoes: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Wash and scrub the russet potatoes thoroughly. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
  • Season the Potatoes: In a large bowl, drizzle the potatoes with olive oil and sprinkle with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Rub the seasoning all over each potato, making sure they are well coated.
  • Carve the Skulls: Carefully use a sharp knife to cut out skull shapes from the potatoes. You can create hollow eyes and a mouth for added effect. Be cautious when carving!
  • Bake: Place the prepared potatoes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for about 45-50 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the skin is crispy.
  • Create the Face: Once the potatoes are done baking, remove them from the oven. Use black olives to create eyes and a mouth on each skull, getting creative with different expressions.
  • Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle with fresh chives or parsley for a pop of color before serving.
