Ingredients

Scale

For the Tea:

  • 2 Earl Grey tea bags (or 2 teaspoons loose leaf tea)
  • 2 cups water
  • 12 tbsp sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

For the Milk:

  • 1/2 cup whole milk (or milk of choice, such as almond, oat, or coconut milk)
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream (optional, for extra creaminess)

Instructions

Brew the Earl Grey Tea

  1. Boil the Water: In a kettle, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
  2. Steep the Tea: Pour the boiling water over the Earl Grey tea bags or loose leaf tea. Let it steep for 3-5 minutes, depending on your preferred strength.
  3. Sweeten the Tea: Remove the tea bags (or strain the loose leaf tea) and stir in sugar to taste. Add vanilla extract if using. Set aside to cool slightly.

Prepare the Milk

  1. Heat the Milk: In a small saucepan, heat the milk and heavy cream (if using) over medium heat. Stir occasionally until the milk is warm, but not boiling.
  2. Froth the Milk: Use a milk frother or a whisk to froth the milk until it becomes creamy and slightly bubbly. If you don’t have a frother, you can simply whisk vigorously to create a bit of foam.

Combine and Serve

  1. Mix the Tea and Milk: Pour the brewed Earl Grey tea into two cups. Gently pour the frothed milk over the tea, stirring gently to combine.
  2. Serve: Enjoy your Earl Grey Milk Tea hot, or allow it to cool for an iced version. Add ice cubes if making iced tea.
