  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

For the Frosting:

  • 1 cup chocolate fudge frosting (store-bought or homemade)

For the Witch Hats:

  • 12 chocolate cookies (such as Oreo)
  • 12 candy corn (for the hat’s tip)

Instructions

Prepare the Cupcakes

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a cupcake pan with paper liners.
  2. Mix the Batter: In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil. Mix until well combined and smooth.
  3. Fill the Cupcake Liners: Pour the batter into the lined cupcake pan, filling each liner about two-thirds full.
  4. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  5. Cool: Remove from the oven and allow the cupcakes to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Frost the Cupcakes

  1. Prepare the Frosting: Once the cupcakes are completely cool, frost each cupcake generously with chocolate fudge frosting using a knife or piping bag.

Assemble the Witch Hats

  1. Create the Hats: Take a chocolate cookie and place it on top of the frosted cupcake, pressing down slightly.
  2. Add Candy Corn: Place a piece of candy corn upright in the center of the cookie to create the witch hat’s tip.
