Ingredients

Scale

Gather the following ingredients to make your Homemade Cinnamon Apple Chips:

  • 2 large apples (Honeycrisp, Fuji, or your favorite variety)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

Prepare the Apples

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

  2. Slice the Apples: Use a mandoline slicer or a sharp knife to slice the apples as thinly as possible (about 1/8-inch thick). Remove any seeds from the slices.

  3. Add Cinnamon: Arrange the apple slices on the prepared baking sheets in a single layer, without overlapping. Sprinkle cinnamon evenly over the slices.

Bake the Apple Chips

  1. Bake Low and Slow: Place the baking sheets in the oven and bake for 2.5 to 3 hours. Flip the apple slices halfway through to ensure even drying. The apples should be crisp and slightly curled at the edges.

  2. Cool the Chips: Once the apple chips are crisp, remove them from the oven and let them cool completely on the baking sheets. They will continue to crisp up as they cool.

Store and Enjoy

  1. Store Properly: Store the cooled apple chips in an airtight container for up to a week.

  2. Enjoy: Eat as a snack, add to your morning oatmeal, or use as a topping for desserts.
