Homemade Cozy Gingerbread Latte

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee (or 1 shot of espresso)
  • 1 cup dairy or non-dairy milk (almond, oat, soy, or regular milk)
  • 1 tablespoon molasses
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup (or brown sugar)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Whipped cream (optional, for topping)
  • Ground cinnamon or nutmeg (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Brew the Coffee:
    • Brew your strong coffee or prepare a shot of espresso. Set aside.
  • Heat the Milk:
    • In a small saucepan over medium heat, warm the milk until it’s hot but not boiling. Stir frequently to avoid scorching.
  • Make the Gingerbread Syrup:
    • To the warm milk, add the molasses, maple syrup (or brown sugar), ground ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract. Whisk together until well combined and heated through.
  • Combine Coffee and Syrup:
    • Pour the brewed coffee into your favorite mug. Add the gingerbread-flavored milk mixture, stirring to combine.
  • Froth the Milk (Optional):
    • If you have a milk frother, use it to create a frothy topping. If not, you can vigorously whisk the milk or shake it in a sealed jar to achieve some froth.
  • Serve and Garnish:
    • Top the latte with whipped cream, and sprinkle a bit of ground cinnamon or nutmeg for extra warmth and flavor.
  • Enjoy:
    • Sip and enjoy your Cozy Gingerbread Latte—perfect for chilly mornings or festive evenings!
