Ingredients

Scale

Gather these ingredients to make your Kiwi Sorbet:

  • 6 ripe kiwis, peeled and chopped
  • ½ cup granulated sugar or honey (adjust to taste)
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest (optional, for extra flavor)

Instructions

Prepare the Kiwi Puree:

  1. Peel and Chop: Peel the kiwis and chop them into small pieces for easy blending.
  2. Blend the Kiwis: Place the chopped kiwis in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Set aside.

Make the Simple Syrup:

  1. Heat the Sugar and Water: In a small saucepan, combine the sugar (or honey) and water. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is fully dissolved. Remove from heat and let it cool completely.

Combine and Flavor:

  1. Mix the Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the kiwi puree, cooled simple syrup, lemon juice, and lime zest (if using). Stir until well combined.
  2. Taste and Adjust: Taste the mixture and adjust sweetness or acidity as needed.

Freeze the Sorbet:

  1. Transfer to a Freezer-Safe Container: Pour the mixture into a shallow, freezer-safe container.
  2. Freeze: Place the container in the freezer and freeze for 3-4 hours, stirring every 30 minutes to prevent large ice crystals from forming.

Serve:

  1. Scoop and Enjoy: Once frozen to a scoopable consistency, serve the sorbet in bowls or cones. Garnish with kiwi slices or mint leaves for a decorative touch.
