1 loaf of soft white bread (such as brioche or milk bread)
4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
1/4 tsp salt
For the Cream Cheese Filling:
8 oz cream cheese, softened
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped
2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
For Topping:
2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
1 tbsp minced garlic
1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
Prepare the Filling
Mix Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, minced garlic, chopped green onions, parsley (if using), black pepper, and salt. Mix well until smooth and creamy.
Add Heat (Optional): If you like a bit of spice, stir in the red pepper flakes for an extra kick. Set aside.
Prepare the Bread
Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Slice the Bread: Using a serrated knife, carefully cut the loaf of bread into diagonal slices, about 1-2 inches apart, without cutting all the way through. This creates pockets for the filling.
Stuff the Bread: Generously spread the cream cheese filling into each slice, making sure to fill each pocket well.
Brush with Butter: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter and salt. Brush the outside of the bread with the melted butter mixture for added flavor.
Bake the Bread
Wrap in Foil: Place the stuffed loaf on a baking sheet and wrap it loosely in aluminum foil to keep it moist during baking.
Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the top is golden and crispy.
Prepare Garlic Topping: While the bread is baking, mix the melted butter, minced garlic, and chopped parsley in a small bowl.
Finish Baking: Once the bread is done, brush the garlic topping over the hot loaf and return to the oven for 2-3 minutes to infuse the flavors.
Serve
Cool Slightly: Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before slicing.
Enjoy: Serve warm, and enjoy your delightful Korean Cream Cheese Garlic Bread!
