Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (Italian-seasoned if preferred)
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Mummy Wrapping:

  • 1 package refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 2 black olives (for eyes)

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2: Prepare the Chicken

  • Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.

Step 3: Bread the Chicken

  • Set up a breading station: place the flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in another, and breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
  • Dredge each chicken breast in flour, shaking off the excess. Dip into the beaten eggs, and then coat with breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.

Step 4: Bake the Chicken

  • Place the breaded chicken breasts on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes, or until cooked through and golden brown.

Step 5: Add Sauce and Cheese

  • Remove the chicken from the oven and spoon marinara sauce over each piece. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top.

Step 6: Wrap the Mummies

  • Open the crescent roll dough and cut it into thin strips. Carefully wrap the dough strips around the chicken to create a mummy effect, leaving gaps for the cheese and sauce to show through.
  • Place two black olive halves on each chicken piece to represent the mummy’s eyes.

Step 7: Bake Again

  • Return the chicken to the oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the dough is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Step 8: Serve

  • Let the Mummy Chicken Parmesan cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your spooky creation!
