Smoked Paprika Chicken

Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Marinade

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, olive oil, and lemon juice.
  • Mix well until it forms a smooth marinade.

Marinate the Chicken

  • Place the chicken breasts in a large resealable bag or a shallow dish.
  • Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring each piece is evenly coated.
  • Seal the bag or cover the dish, and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes (or up to 2 hours for more flavor).

Preheat the Skillet

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add a tablespoon of olive oil to the skillet, allowing it to heat until shimmering.

Cook the Chicken

  • Remove the chicken from the marinade, shaking off excess marinade.
  • Place the chicken breasts in the skillet and cook for 6-7 minutes on one side until golden brown.
  • Flip the chicken and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).

Rest the Chicken

  • Once cooked, remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest for about 5 minutes.
  • This allows the juices to redistribute, keeping the chicken moist.

Serve

  • Slice the chicken and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
  • Serve hot with your choice of sides, such as rice, potatoes, or a fresh salad.
