Ingredients

Scale

Gather these ingredients to create your Festive and Delicious Jello Parfait:

  • 1 package (3 oz) flavored gelatin (any color or flavor of your choice)
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • ½ cup cold water
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup mixed fruit (such as berries, kiwi, or peaches)
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows (optional)
  • 1 cup whipped topping (like Cool Whip)

Instructions

Prepare the Gelatin:

  1. Dissolve the Gelatin: In a medium-sized bowl, pour the flavored gelatin into 1 cup of boiling water. Stir well until the gelatin is completely dissolved.
  2. Add Cold Water: Once dissolved, add ½ cup of cold water to the mixture. Stir to combine.
  3. Chill the Gelatin: Pour the gelatin mixture into individual serving glasses or a large dish. Refrigerate for about 1.5 hours, or until set but not fully firm.

Prepare the Whipped Cream:

  1. Whip the Cream: In a large mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Using an electric mixer, whip the cream on high speed until soft peaks form.
  2. Add Whipped Topping: Fold in the whipped topping until fully combined and smooth. The whipped cream should be fluffy and light.

Assemble the Parfaits:

  1. Layer the Gelatin: Once the gelatin is partially set, use a spoon to carefully add a layer of the gelatin mixture into each serving glass.
  2. Add the Whipped Cream: Spoon a layer of the whipped cream mixture on top of the gelatin.
  3. Add the Fruit and Marshmallows: Add a layer of mixed fruit and mini marshmallows (if using) over the whipped cream.
  4. Repeat the Layers: Continue layering gelatin, whipped cream, and fruit until the glasses are filled. Finish with a final layer of whipped cream and top with additional fruit or marshmallows for garnish.
  5. Chill the Parfaits: Refrigerate the parfaits for at least 2 more hours, or until fully set and chilled.
