Ingredients

Scale

For the Pink Champagne Panna Cotta:

  • 1 cup pink champagne (or sparkling wine)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons gelatin powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Fresh strawberries for garnish (optional)

For the Donut Shots:

  • 1 package mini donut holes (store-bought or homemade)
  • ½ cup powdered sugar (for coating)
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • A shot of espresso or coffee (for dipping)

Instructions

Prepare the Panna Cotta:

  1. Bloom the Gelatin: In a small bowl, add ¼ cup of the pink champagne. Sprinkle the gelatin over the top and let it sit for about 5 minutes to bloom.
  2. Heat the Cream Mixture: In a medium saucepan, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, and sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture is warm but not boiling.
  3. Add Gelatin to the Cream Mixture: Once the milk and cream mixture is warm, stir in the bloomed gelatin until it completely dissolves. Add the remaining pink champagne and vanilla extract, stirring to combine.
  4. Pour and Chill: Pour the panna cotta mixture into small serving glasses or ramekins. Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 3 hours or until fully set.

Prepare the Donut Shots:

  1. Coat the Donuts: While the panna cotta is chilling, melt the butter in a small bowl. In another bowl, combine the powdered sugar and cinnamon (if using).
  2. Prepare the Donut Shots: Dip each mini donut hole into the melted butter, then roll it in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until fully coated. Set aside on a plate.
  3. Make the Dipping Shot: If desired, brew a shot of espresso or prepare a small amount of strong coffee for dipping the donut shots.

Assemble the Dessert:

  1. Serve: Once the panna cotta has set, serve each one with a mini donut shot on the side. Place the donut hole into the glass of panna cotta or serve it separately for dipping.
