Ingredients

Scale

For the Nutella Pancake Stacks, you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ¼ cups milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Nutella
  • 1 cup whipped cream (optional)
  • Fresh fruit (strawberries, bananas, or berries) for garnish (optional)
  • Crushed hazelnuts or chocolate shavings for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Make the Pancake Batter:

  1. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth and combined.
  3. Combine: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can lead to dense pancakes.

Cook the Pancakes:

  1. Preheat the Pan: Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease with butter or oil.
  2. Cook the Pancakes: For each pancake, pour about ¼ cup of batter onto the pan. Cook until small bubbles form on the surface of the pancake, about 2-3 minutes. Flip and cook the other side until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes more.
  3. Stack the Pancakes: Continue cooking the pancakes and stacking them as you go. You should have about 8 pancakes total for 4 stacks.

Assemble the Stacks:

  1. Spread Nutella Between Layers: Once the pancakes are cooked, place the first pancake on a plate and spread a layer of Nutella on top. Add the second pancake and repeat the process, layering Nutella between each pancake.
  2. Top with Whipped Cream: After stacking all the pancakes, add a generous dollop of whipped cream on top of the final pancake.
  3. Garnish and Serve: Garnish with fresh fruit and crushed hazelnuts or chocolate shavings if desired, then serve immediately.
